Here's How Much Arlington's Coronavirus Relief Fund Has Raised
The town launched an emergency fund last week to help people and families experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.
ARLINGTON, MA — Arlington launched the Coronavirus Relief Fund last Tuesday to provide emergency relief to people and families experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic. The fund relies on donations from the Arlington community.
So far, the fund has raised $66,681. The first $10,000 in donations were matched on Giving Tuesday Now, an initiative held May 5 to encourage fundraising.
The money will go toward helping residents:

- remain in their homes with rent/mortgage payments and assistance with utilities
- keep their kids connected to school lessons and families in contact through internet connectivity
- pay for health care and medications
- fund child care while essential workers continue to keep the community running
- support to small businesses and those that work in town
To make an online donation to the Arlington COVID-19 Relief Fund, click here. Donations to the fund are fully tax-deductible and provide emergency assistance to Arlington community members. Those who donate to the fund should note that there is a new deduction available for those who do not itemize their taxes of up to $300 per individual or $600 per household.
