Police: Juvenile Shoplifting Arrest; Fireworks Fire on Baseball Diamond; Crash With Injuries

Friday, Nov. 13

At 11:30 a.m., two-vehicle crash with possible injury on Massachusetts Avenue at Pleasant Street. Driver was taken to area hospital for possible injuries to head and neck. Vehicles had minor damages.

At 7:10 p.m., fire investigation in area of Crosby Street. Officer dispatched to investigate a report of loud bangs or gunshots coming from the rear of the home. While on scene, a second call was received from a resident of Crosby Street, who heard the same noise. Officer headed to the area of the Bishop School and located a small fire on the baseball diamond, which was a group of fireworks that had not yet been extinguished. Requested Arlington Fire. Ladder 1 arrived a short time later and extinguished the fire completely.

Saturday, Nov. 14

Saturday morning, Voice message to Animal Control Officer, in regards to a woman’s dog being attacked by another dog at Mentomy Rocks Park. While on the walk, there was a group of people with about 12-15 dogs or so all on leash who were also present. The group was walking past the Church Street entrance at about 8:30 a.m. when a medium-sized black lab mix charged and pinned down the reporting party’s poodle/bichon mixed dog. who was leashed. The black dog “attacked the poodle mix. Onlookers jumped in to help pull the attacking dog off.

At 10:33 a.m., identity theft reported at the station. Victim came to the station to report that he was the victim of identity fraud. He reported that on October 23 he received a credit card from Express Next. He stated that he did not apply for the credit card. He spoke with the bank and was told that the person had charged $951 on the credit card in California. At this time the credit card has been canceled and he placed a fraud alert on his credit report. He reviewed his credit report and learned that credit applications were opened for Ann Taylor and Bon Ton. At this time, he has notified the companies that these were fraudulent and to reject the applications.

Arrest Log:

Arlington Police arrested a 17-year-old without incident on a fugitive from justice on a court warrant on Friday, Nov. 13, in town. The warrant was for shoplifting. Authorities did not release the name because of the age.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
