ARLINGTON, MA — A second fundraiser has been launched following a fire at a two-family home in Arlington over the weekend.

The GoFundMe campaign is raising money for residents of the first floor, who are college students or recent graduates, Patch partner YourArlington reported. They have been staying with family members in the area since being displaced by the fire.

The fundraiser was organized by the sister of one of the tenants and has raised a little over $1,100 of its $5,000 goal.

"Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but they must find a new home and lost most of their possessions," Emma Jaeger wrote. "The costs of moving and replacing all of their belongings, valuables, and furniture are immense."

The two-alarm fire broke out at 10 White Street around 7 p.m. on Saturday. CBS Boston reported that residents of the first and second floors got out safely, but are now displaced.

More than $40,000 has been raised for the family on the second floor, who does not have relatives to stay with nearby. According to that GoFundMe campaign, the family is staying at a neighbor's house temporarily, but will soon need to find permanent living arrangements.

"Thank you for meeting the original goal to hopefully recover some of their possessions," Doris Lee, who started the fundraiser, wrote in a Feb. 22 update. "Hoping to raise some more to cover the next few months of moving, transitioning and living costs while permanent housing can be nailed down."
