State Grant Plants Seeds For Tree Planting In Arlington: Report
The funds will be used to plant hundreds of trees.

ARLINGTON, MA — The town has received a $125,000 grant from the state to fund the planting of 200 trees throughout town, according to a report from YourArlington.
The money was awarded from Gov. Maura Healey through her administration’s Cool Corridors grant program. The program’s purpose is to battle against extreme temperatures statewide, and the trees in Arlington will be placed in locations in need of shade, such as popular walking areas. The planting is slated to begin this spring in areas the town has identified as “vulnerable.”
According to the town, the Arlington Tree Division will be in charge of maintenance and care of the trees once they are planted.
