ARLINGTON, MA — The Fire Department rescued a teenager who fell through the ice on the Arlington Reservoir Monday morning, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.

The male was walking with his father on the frozen body of water when he fell through the layer of ice. Arlington firefighters responded after his father was unable to rescue his son on his own.

The teen appeared to be in good condition but was evaluated by paramedics soon after. Probationary Firefighter Pat Curran was a driving force behind the successful saving, as he was called into action during his first-ever shift.
