Town Of Arlington Announces New Recycling & Trash Contractor
Trash routes, days of collection, and all the rules of the Town's recycling/trash collection program remain the same.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Town of Arlington has hired Republic Services as the its new recycling and trash contractor.
Beginning Thursday, June 2, Arlington residents may notice blue Republic trucks alongside JRM trucks and many of their employees dressed in blue and yellow Republic uniforms. As Republic learns and adjust their routes collection, times during the day may vary, so residents should have their items on the curb no later than 7 a.m. on their collection day.
Trash routes, days of collection, and all the rules of the Town’s recycling/trash collection program remain the same. Even the contact information for reaching Republic Services to report missed collections or other issues remains: 1-800-323-4285 and customerservice@jrmhauling.com.

Republic Services is a publicly traded national recycling and waste hauler with contracts in 47 states, serving 14 million customers and operating 71 recycling processing facilities. Municipal clients in Massachusetts include Watertown, Wakefield, Saugus, Malden, and Melrose.
On May 16, Republic Services acquired JRM Hauling and Recycling. Earlier that month, Arlington had signed a three-year contract with JRM Hauling with the understanding that this acquisition was planned. Mergers and acquisitions have been a pattern in the waste and recycling industry nationally.
