With this new partnership, Arlington kids can get bikes if they need them, so please help us spread the word!
Do you have a garage full of bikes and no way to get them to the Reuse & Recycling Center? The Bike Connector organizes volunteers to pick them up, so reach out to schedule an appointment: info@bikeconnector.org
The Bike Connector is nonprofit and is always in need of volunteers - mechanics, inventory & logistics helpers, front desk “door greeters”, extra help at off-site events to receive or donate bikes - no experience necessary! Please let anyone who might be interested know about this great volunteer opportunity.
The Bike Connector is working on a “classic bike” sale for sometime in April. They are converting 10 speed road bikes with drop handlebars to a more comfortable flat-bar handlebar as well as tuning up 3-speed and cruiser bikes. If you are interested in this sale, visit their website. This is one way they can raise funds to support all their youth programs, which are free for kids!
About bike donations, from co-founder Patty:
"The bikes that are needed the most are mountain bikes with 26” tires - they are the most popular with students. We do our best to fix them and use them, rather than part them for the metal. We take any bike in any condition. We can find a use for most bikes and the metal that we can’t use is recycled at a metal scrap yard in Lowell."
