Monday is Patriots' Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts but not a federal one. Find out what will be open and closed on the holiday.
ARLINGTON, MA — Patriots' Day is Monday, April 19 in Massachusetts. The Bay State-specific holiday marks the Battles of Lexington and Concord and the start of the Revolutionary War.
In a typical year, Patriots' Day would also coincide with Marathon Monday. That's been tentatively rescheduled to Oct. 11 after being canceled last year due to the ongoing pandemic.

April 19: All Town Administrative Offices, Libraries Closed

April 19: No Trash/Recycling Collection
One-day delay rest of week.
There will be no trash or recycling collections on April 19th. Monday's collection will be picked up on Tuesday. There will be a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. The Friday pick-up will be collected on Saturday. This schedule applies to trash and recycling. For missed pick-ups, please call JRM directly at 1-800-323-4285.
