
The team of Drew Briggs and Jim Salisbury were crowned champions Wednesday at the city of Attleboro's 2012 Doubles Horseshoe Tournament, which took place at the South Attleboro Veterans Memorial Playground.
Briggs and Salisbury were undefeated as they marched through the winners bracket to face Wayne Vaslet and Steve Towner in the finals. Briggs and Salisbury won 2-1 (26-17, 24-26 and 25-19) in an evenly played championship match.
In the semifinals, Briggs and Salisbury defeated the father and son team of Don and Brett Fagan, while Vaslet and Towner knocked off Larry Kiff and Paul Varnum. In the consolation match, the Fagans defeated Kiff and Varnum to take third place.

Other teams that made the quarterfinals were George Alamo and Brian Vaslet, Bob Blais and Jeff Kingsley, Joe and Dave Driscoll as well as Steve Stack and Fred Lebeau.
