Attleboro Library Appoints New Assistant Director

Evelyn Hernández Carrión has been appointed as the new assistant director of the Attleboro Public Library. She has been working in libraries for 12 years, including the past 17 months as head of the Circulation Department in Attleboro.

"We are pleased to have this opportunity to expand Evelyn's responsibilities at the Attleboro Public Library," APL Director Joan Pilkington-Smyth said. "Evelyn has opened up opportunities for multi-lingual patrons to use library services [and] promotes excellent customer service for all patrons of the library."

A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carrión has a bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico and a master's degree in library and information science from Simmons College in Boston. Her professional experience includes customer service in public and academic libraries, legal research, programs for bilingual populations and coordination of technology services.
