Dayspring Christian Alumni Inspire Students

Students in Kindergarten through eighth grade at were treated to a special chapel service Wednesday when two alumni returned for motivational presentations.

 In two separate services held in the adjacent , 2009 Dayspring Christian graduates Billy Arruda and David DaSilva entertained and inspired current students with their musical and oratorical skills.

Arruda, a junior at  is an up-and-coming rock musician and his single "Rise Up" was recently made available for sale on Amazon.com, and ITunes.com. The single was featured on the JumboTron screen in Times Square in New York City. His second single "One is Three" is expected to be released soon.

He played his guitar and performed the song "Fire Fall Down" for Dayspring Christian students.

DaSilva, a junior at Masters Regional Academy in Smithfield, R.I., exhibited his passion for preaching by urging students to heed God's call to work in His service in their lifetimes. During a 15-minute sermon, DaSilva quoted Biblical passages, but largely spoke from his heart.

"God is alive and has a calling on your life," DaSilva said. "You are significant and you are called in your young lives to work in the service of our Lord. Today is the time you decide to side with Jesus and to be alive instead of dead."
