Fireworks Show Street Closures, Parking Options/Restrictions

The following is from Attleboro Police Chief Kyle Heagney about the fireworks show at Hayward Field. Festivities will begin at 7 p.m. (people should arrive by 6 p.m.) and the fireworks will start at 9:31 p.m.:

The general public will not be allowed on the baseball or football field areas of Hayward Field per order of Fire Chief LaChance during the fireworks display.

No Dogs will be allowed on the Hayward Field grounds
The general public will not be allowed to park in the Hayward Field parking area.

Vehicles will not be allowed to park along the street on North Avenue from 3 p.m. until 12 a.m. North Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic at approximately 8 p.m.

The Police Command Post will be located in the Spatcher Pool parking lot off North Avenue near the entrance to Hayward Field. A First Aid Station and "lost and found" area will be located next to the Police Command Post.

Parking will be available at the following locations:

  • Northwest Industrial Complex, Walton Street across from Hayward Field.
  • Parking lot area at 81 West Street
  • Handicap Parking will be available on North Avenue at Walton Street
  • Bishop Feehan High School, with limited availability

At the conclusion of the fireworks display and when the pedestrians have cleared the street along North Avenue, all vehicles will exit the Northwest Industrial Complex on Walton Street in two lanes. One lane will be routed in a northerly direction on North Avenue and the other lane will be routed in a southerly direction on North Avenue.

A delay in traffic movement is to be expected, as no traffic will be allowed onto North Avenue until the pedestrians have cleared the street.

Vehicles parked along side streets north of Hayward Field will be routed in a northerly direction on North Avenue towards Toner Boulevard.

Vehicles parked along side streets south of Hayward Field will be routed in a southerly direction on North Avenue towards West Street.

Vehicles parked along Stobbs Drive, will be routed onto Holcott Drive and onto Commonwealth Avenue toward North Main Street.

Vehicles parked in the parking lot at 81 West Street will be routed in a westerly direction on West Street.
