in Attleboro put on its sixth annual Cabaret production on Friday and Saturday. This year's working, economical and occupational theme provoked music from such shows as Annie and Newsies as well as popular favorites such as "9 to 5," "Whistle While You Work" and "Manic
Monday."
There were 24 performances, which included 85 students, 15 parents, 14 teachers, one alumnus and one grandparent. Director Sue Fortin, music teacher at St. John's, was assisted by Alden Harrison of and Kathy Harum. Harrison choreographed and directed the Annie, Footloose and Get a Job montages. Harum directed "Seize the Day" from Newsies.
The cast rehearsed for more than four months to prepare for the two-night show. More than 30 volunteers—including costume coordinators, band members and the stage crew—helped to make the show possible.
