Yard Sale Raises Money for School

Parent Advisory Council staged its second Giant Yard Sale of the 2011-12 school year on Saturday in the large parking lot shared by the school and the .

Blessed by sun-filled skies and warm temperatures, Saturday’s event was a rousing success for the PAC, which sponsors a series of fundraising programs every year to benefit the school. PAC member Lauren Gannon said the sale attracted dozens of vendors and hundreds of bargain-hunters.

"We rented 40 vendor tables today, which is nearly a record for us," Gannon said. "Everyone seems to be having a great time and the weather has really cooperated."

Vendors exhibited a variety of new and gently used products, including clothing, toys, games, children and infant products, personal hygiene items, books, sporting goods, electronic devices and much more. PAC members and Dayspring Christian students sold refreshments throughout the day.

The traffic flow was heavy throughout Saturday and the remaining space in the parking lot filled quickly, forcing many buyers to park on abutting side streets.
