Attleboro Election Results: New High School Approved
Attleboro election results April 3, 2018: voters approved a new high school and elected Democrat Jim Hawkins as state representative.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro voters on Tuesday approved the construction of a new high school and elected Democrat Jim Hawkins as state representative. Hawkins beat out Republican Julie Hall in the Second Bristol District state representative special election. Hawkins will serve out the remaining term of Democrat Paul Heroux, who was elected mayor in November.
The high school was approved by a margin of 5,548 votes to 3,927 votes. Hawkins defeated Hall by a count of 3,927 votes to 3,633 votes.
"Thank you, Attleboro," Hawkins said in a statement. "I will not let you down."

Attleboro schools Superintendent David Sawyer thanked voters for approving the high school plan.
"We are eager to meet and exceed the community’s expectations in our service to the students of Attleboro," Sawyer said in a statement.

Also on Tuesday, Scott Domenici was elected as the Ward 6 School Committee member in an uncontested race.
