Manuel A. Rego, 64, of Pine Street, Attleboro, passed on Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital after a valiant fight against a long time illness.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, on August 2, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Araujo) Rego of Attleboro. Manuel was educated in schools in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He worked for many years at Fogarty's Towing and Auto Salvage in Norton. He will forever be remembered and missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother Maria, Manuel is survived by a son; Michael Rego of Taunton, a daughter; Lydia Rego of Taunton, three sisters; Berta Amaral of Johnston, RI, Teresa Rego of Attleboro, and Maria DeMelo of Attleboro.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5 PM – 8 PM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 9 A.M. from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, celebrated by Rev. Richard Wilson, pastor.
Manuel will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro.
