Melanie Y. Halpin, 68, of Pearl Street Extension, Attleboro, a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed on July 23, 2013 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Timothy Halpin.
Born in Attleboro on August 9, 1945, she was a daughter of Doris (Ouimet) Fournier of Attleboro and the late Leo Fournier. Melanie was educated in Attleboro schools and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. She worked for twenty eight years in communications at Sturdy Memorial Hospital prior to retirement. Melanie enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire and Maine with her family, as well as baking, cooking, and entertaining.
In addition to her husband Tim, Melanie is survived by a son; Christopher Boyle of North Providence, a daughter; Kelly Boyle of Attleboro, a sister; Charlotte Soule of Attleboro, and three grandchildren; Samantha Greenslade, Nicholas Boyle, and Victoria Boyle.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013 from 9 AM - 10:30 AM in the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Saint John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, celebrated by Rev. Richard Wilson, Pastor. Melanie will be laid to rest privately in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Attleboro.
