Attleboro Storm Shelter Open
Attleboro storm update: a shelter was opened at Wamsutta Elementary School on Locust Street.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro officials on Saturday opened a shelter for those affected by Friday's devastating storm. The shelter is at Wamsutta Elementary School on Locust Street.
As of Saturday at 8:30 p.m., 8,298 were still without power in Attleboro. That figure represents 46 percent of town. National Grid said outages will continue until at least Sunday.
At the height of the storm, more than 450,000 lost power across the state. Reports indicate outages will likely persist into late next week. The good news for line crews is the weather will be calm and seasonable all week, with brief periods of rain.

Friday's storm was blamed for at least one death after a tree fell on a man in Plympton.
