Bessell Withdraws From Ward 3 School Committee Race

Jessica Bessell will not be running for a seat on the school committee this fall.

Bessell, who was a candidate for the Ward 3 school committee spot, told Patch that family and personal commitments are preventing her from running a campaign.

"While the issues facing our schools and their solutions are extremely important to me, at this time other family and personal commitments prevent me from running my campaign," she wrote in an email to Patch. "Also, whether it is attending school committee meetings or volunteering in our schools, as a parent and a member of this community I am still committed to being involved any way I can to further Attleboro's school system in a positive direction."

Bessell's withdrawl creates a clear path for local attorney Stephen Withers, who is now running unopposed. Current Ward 3 representative Christopher O'Neil is not running for another term.
