Board of Selectmen Meeting Canceled
The media and general public are not notified about the cancellation in advance.

Those coming to Seekonk Town Hall Wednesday evening expecting to attend the Board of Selectmen meeting instead found a note on the door stating the session had been cancelled. This caught many people by surprise, including the local media, since no cancellation notice appeared on the town website or was distributed through email.
The note at Town Hall did not give a reason for the cancellation. Selectman Dave Parker wrote in an email to Seekonk Patch that he was informed earlier on Wednesday that there would not be a meeting.
"I got an email that [Board Chair] Francis [Cavaco] was sick," Parker wrote. "Later, I learned that the meeting was not posted properly by our office, so it would not have been a legal meeting anyway."
