Cumberland Crossing Shopping Center Purchased By Ocean State Job Lot

The popular shopping mall is now owned by the discount retail chain, and will soon open a new store in the former Christmas Tree Shops.

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, MA - Cumberland Crossing shopping center has a new owner - Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL). The popular mall, located at 1505 S. Washington St., currently has a trampoline park, Guitar Center, Planet Fitness and more, and now with the latest owner will come a new store in the old Christmas Tree Shops spot.

The 51,074 square-foot shop will also bring new jobs with it, as OSJL plans to hire up to 70 positions including store leadership, supervisory, full-time and part-time seasonal associates.

“We’re thrilled not only to expand our retail footprint but also to solidify our presence in North Attleborough through the acquisition of this prominent shopping plaza,” said Mark O’Connor, the senior real estate manager at OSJL.

The discount retail chain has 159 stores across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, and their newest expansion will be the 53rd shop OSJL has opened in the Commonwealth. One of their main goals is repurposing former retail sites, and this upcoming location will mark its sixth reuse of Christmas Tree Shops properties (sites include Avon and Pembroke, and other locations in Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont).

“This location represents our ongoing commitment to providing value-driven shopping experiences for our customers across New England,” O’Connor said. “We look forward to bringing our unique brand of service and savings to the local community.”
