Discolored Water Caused by Water Line Break, Treatment Plant Shutdown

The Public Works department is flushing the lines to fix the problem.

Some residents still have discolored water after a water main break Thursday, the Sun Chronicle reported.

The break, caused when installation of a guard rail post broke the line, occurred on South Avenue at Tiffany Street Thursday night, and was quickly repaired, with water service returning the area by midnight. However, the water treatment plant was shut down temporarily, causing the discolored water.

The Public Works Department is flushing the lines to remove the discoloration, a common problem after water line breaks.
