New Attleboro Firefighter Sworn In
Attleboro firefighter Kelsea LeBlanc is one of two women serving in the department.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro's newest firefighter was sworn in last week. Kelsea LeBlanc, 23, is an Attleboro native and U.S. Army Reserve combat medic. She attended Attleboro High School and volunteered for the fire department after graduation.
“I’ve always wanted to be able to give back to my community and help people at home,” LeBlanc said in a statement.
LeBlanc is one of two women serving in the department.

“It means a lot being one of only two women on the department," LeBlanc added. "It was a similar situation when I joined the military. I’ve always loved challenging things. I would never want to be an office worker. Hopefully younger girls who want to do a career like this will see that it is possible.”
LeBlanc attended Fitchburg State College and worked as an EMT.

"Her EMS and military experience will be valuable to our department and I wish her the best going forward," fire Chief Scott Lachance said.
LeBlanc was sworn in by Mayor Paul Heroux May 7.
