Police Pursue Suspects in Home Invasion Robbery

An Attleboro detective says the department is pursuing "solid leads." He expects arrests will be made.

Tuesday, 6:30 a.m. UPDATE: The investigation is expected to continue today into a Monday afternoon home invasion robbery on Newport Avenue in South Attleboro, Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon said.

Brillon said the department has "solid leads" on the two suspects. They allegedly entered the home near , not far from the Pawtucket border, armed with guns and took cash.

A call was made about the incident to Attleboro police at 12:37 p.m., Brillon said. Attleboro and state police searched the area for approximately two hours. A state police K-9 unit and helicopter were involved in the search.

Brillon said he believes the home was targeted and the incident was not a random act.

3:15 P.M. UPDATE: Attleboro and state police have called off the search for two robbery suspects in the vicinity of a home on Newport Avenue near , not far from the Pawtucket border, Attleboro Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon told Attleboro Patch.

Brillon said there is an active investigation and the department has received "solids leads," which it is pursuing. He said he expects arrests to be made.

Brillon said two armed men apparently entered the home in the early afternoon and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He said there is "nothing to suggest it was a random act" and it appears the home was targeted.

A call was made to the Attleboro department at 12:37 p.m., Brillon said.

A Massachusetts police K-9 unit and a helicopter took part in the search.
