For a Seekonk woman, it was a life-changing event.  The Providence Journal <a href="http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/07/a-patriotic-marriage-proposal-along-bristol-parade-route.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">reported</a>: <blockquote> Around noon, with the sounds and colors of paradegoers, marching bands and salutes as a backdrop, Matthew McCartin proposed to his girlfriend Christina Hawkins of Seekonk. And she said "yes." </blockquote>
