RI Bank Robbery Suspect Found Lying Next to Cash in Attleboro Motel
Police arrested a 27-year-old Johnston woman one day after she allegedly robbed a Cranston bank.

CRANSTON, RI—One day after 27-year-old Shannon Sampson of Johnston allegedly robbed the Santander bank on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston, police found her lying on a bed in an Attleboro motel next to crisp $100 bills.
Sampson, of 55 Manuel Ave., Johnston, is now facing a second-degree robbery charge for passing a note to a bank teller at the 555 Reservoir Ave. bank branch on Tuesday,demanding cash and fleeing with about $10,000.
Police released images of Sampson taken by surveillance cameras during the heist on Tuesday and shortly after midnight, police got a tip that she was staying at the Attleboro Motor Inn on Route 1.

With the assistance of Attleboro police, Sampson was taken into custody at the motel without incident.
She appeared in Attleboro District Court as a fugitive from Justice on Wednesday and was returned to Rhode Island after she waived extradition. She is due to appear in Third Division District Court in Warwick on Wednesday.
