Schools Chief Could Be Chosen Tonight

1. Mike Tyler, chair of the Attleboro School Committee, told Patch he anticipates a vote on the school district superintendent selection could be made tonight, but stressed he doesn't "have a crystal ball." The school committee will meet tonight in executive session with the "intention to open in public session for possible discussion and deliberation with regard to the superintendent finalists," according to the agenda.

The finalists—West Warwick Superintendent Kenneth Sheehan and New Bedford Schools administrator Anthony Azar—were interviewed earlier this month and both have toured the district campuses.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Room 178E at Attleboro High School.

2. The Attleboro Redevelopment Authority board will meet in the library at 3 p.m. It could be an interesting session since City Councilor Richard Conti is a regular attendee of the board's meetings, and this is the first session since his public conflict with the members.

3. Also taking place in the library is a humerous presentation on parenting titled "Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid." It is free and will begin at 6:30 p.m.

5. Don't shoot the messenger, but snow is possible today, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 40 percent chance of daytime "scattered snow showers," the NWS says. The expected high is 37. At night, snow showers are "likely." The nighttime forecast also calls for cloudy skies and a low near 25.
