Auto racing fans and big event enthusiasts will have to wait until the spring to enjoy the Seekonk 200. The event, originally scheduled for Saturday at Seekonk Speedway, has been rescheduled for April 27 (tentatively) due to the forecast of rain. The National Weather Service says there is an 80 percent chance of daytime rain and a 40 percent chance of nighttime race.
Seekonk 200 organizers released the following statement:
Inclement weather has forced the rescheduling of the Seekonk 200 at Seekonk Speedway. The track walk to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Providence is canceled; we ask any donations be forwarded directly to the Ronald McDonald House.

The race is tentatively rescheduled for Saturday April 27, 2013 at Seekonk Speedway with a rain date of Sunday April 28, 2013.
“All the weather forecast indicate rain throughout the weekend; we thought it would be best to cancel early to save the many race teams the expense of travel; we thank all the individuals involved, especially Bobby Seymour, & Seekonk Speedway in the planning of this event, and look forward to their participation in April”, said Race Promoter Gary Sagar of Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment Inc.
