Police were called late Sunday night to a home on Smith Street in Attleboro, where a man had been shot in the abdomen, various media reported. The man was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown.

The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. Police are searching for a suspect.
Various media are reporting that one large dog was removed from the home by Animal Control so that police could do an investigation. A source familiar with the situation told Attleboro Patch it was two dogs—an American bulldog and a pit bull. They are at the Attleboro Animal Shelter.

The shift commander at the Attleboro police station told Patch at 10:30 a.m. that no new information was available. He said more information could be available in the afternoon.
