Should Students Be Required to Recite the Pledge of Allegiance?

We took to the Attleboro Patch Facebook page to ask. What do you think?

With school almost back in session, Attleboro students will be boarding the bus and meeting their new teachers.

It also means the Pledge of Allegiance will likely be one of the first activities.

We took to the Attleboro Patch Facebook page to ask parents whether they thought the Pledge of Alleigence should be required in schools.

Here's what some had to say:

  • Kathi M. Harlow Yes
  • Julie Ezzo Roche Yes!
  • Chrissy Wade Yes
  • Michelle Nosal It's okay to try leading kids in the pledge, but not okay to force them if they don't want to. And it's not okay to have that "under god" bit.
  • Kurt Weiland Not force them, but if those who want to say it can, those that don't.... well sit down. And certainly don't make it illegal to say in schools. this IS AMERICA!!! If you don't like our traditions go back to your country. If you are American and get offended by it..... don't step on my choice to say it.
