Sturdy Memorial Raises Awareness for Immunization
This month is National Immunization Month

Submitted to Attleboro Patch:
August is recognized as National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) to increase awareness about immunizations for infants to the elderly. This month is a perfect time to remind family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances to catch up on their vaccinations, as it is the month when parents are enrolling their children in school, students are entering college, and health care organizations and communities are preparing for the upcoming flu season.
Sturdy Memorial Hospital recognizes the importance of immunizations, which are a lifelong, life-protecting community effort regardless of age, gender, race, ethnic background, or country of origin. Recommended vaccinations begin soon after birth and continue throughout life. Being aware of vaccination recommendations for infants, children, adolescents, adults of all ages, and seniors is critical to protecting ourselves and our communities from disease.
For more information about vaccinations and for child, adolescent, and adult immunization schedules, visit the American Academy of Family Physicians website at: www.aafp.org/online/en/home/clinical/immunizationres.html.
