• ‘Budget extra time': MBTA schedules January subway, commuter rail closures (bostonherald.com) — Back Bay riders should prepare for major MBTA disruptions, including an Orange Line shutdown between Wellington and Back Bay on Jan. 10–11 with shuttle buses replacing trains. Additional January weekend closures will affect the Blue and Red lines plus several commuter rail routes, as the T performs tunnel inspections, signal upgrades, and station repairs, all with some free shuttles and limited fare-free commuter rail alternatives.
