11 Sharks Spotted On Cape Cod Over The Weekend
Massachusetts waters were busy with shark traffic over the weekend. Here's where they were spotted.
CAPE COD, MA — The waters around Cape Cod were busy this weekend, but it wasn't just tourists and seasonal residents that ventured into the ocean.
According to the shark tracking app Sharktivity, 11 sharks were spotted in the waters around Cape Cod over the weekend. Only one of those 11 has yet to be confirmed, happening off the coast of Nantucket.
Three shark sightings were recorded in the app off Monomoy Island on Saturday, as was a sighting off the coast of Chatham and two sightings in Cape Cod Bay.

Sonar hits on a named shark, Uncle Bill, were recorded on Sunday up the eastern coast of Cape Cod, including in Chatham and off Nauset Beach.
Another named shark, Pearl, had sonar hits in two locations in Wellfleet in between Ballston and Marconi Beaches.

This comes after, recently, multiple people reported the presence of hammerhead sharks in Cape Cod waters, something those heading to the beach and out on the water could see more of, the Cape Cod Times reported.
