2 Injured In Hyannis Hit-And-Run
The driver, a 21-year-old Cape Cod resident, faces various charges including assault and battery and driving violations.
HYANNIS, MA — Two people were injured during a late-night hit-and-run near a Hyannis restaurant on Sunday, police said.
Around 1:50 a.m., Barnstable police were dispatched to the parking area of the Tiki Port restaurant on Route 132 in Hyannis for a hit-and-run pedestrian accident involving a white pick-up truck that had fled the scene, officials said.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, officers and Hyannis Fire and Rescue personnel began medically treating two injured females.

Due to the severity of her injuries, one of the women was transported to nearby Cape Cod Gateway Airport by ambulance and then flown via MedFlight to a Rhode Island Level 1 Trauma Center. The second woman suffered apparent minor injuries and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.
Shortly after the suspect vehicle had been identified, an officer spotted the white pick-up truck and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Following further investigation, the operator of the truck, 21-year-old Yarmouthport resident Maxwell Dean, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a suspended license and several other motor vehicle violations.

He was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
