3 Barnstable Organizations Get $132K In Opioid Abatement Funds

The funds will be used to support efforts in substance use prevention and education, harm reduction, treatment services or recovery support.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable was awarded additional Opioid Abatement Funds, and recently distributed the money to three organizations.

Barnstable was awarded an additional $132,827 in funds, which it distributed to the following organizations:

Duffy Health Center, $50,000, to support Basic Needs and Multiple Pathways programs; Sharing Kindness, $37,587, to support Virtual Family Groups and School Grief Groups programs; and WellStrong, $45,240, to support the Peer Support Navigator (PSN) program that will serve individuals in recovery from substance use disorder using evidence-based peer support services.

The checks were distributed at the Feb. 27 Barnstable Town Council Meeting.

Another application round for funds ends on March 31, with two additional rounds planned.
