Barnstable Awards $115K In Grants To Downtown Hyannis Businesses

Fourteen downtown Hyannis businesses can use the funds to improve the aesthetics of their storefronts through the Façade Grant Program.

The Barnstable Planning and Development Department, in partnership with the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District (BID), is pleased to announce $115,000 in grant funding awarded to small businesses in downtown Hyannis for façade improvements.

The Downtown Hyannis Façade Grant Program will support 14 small businesses to improve the aesthetics of their storefronts with projects that include new signage, awnings, planters, and other attractive exterior improvements. Through additional matching funds provided by participating businesses, this funding is expected to result in approximately $150,000 dollars in new investment to the downtown Hyannis area.

This program was made possible through funding from a MassDevelopment Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) Local Grant. The Town of Barnstable’s Planning and Development Department worked collaboratively with the BID to plan and manage the grant program.

This initiative is a continuation of the 2023 Small Business Façade Improvement Grant Program that provided grants to 21 small businesses and resulted in over $400,000 of investment in downtown Hyannis.
