BARNSTABLE, MA — When you're done getting your milk and bread to get ready for Saturday's storm, make sure you get your car off the road.

Barnstable police issued a town-wide on-street parking ban, starting at 2 a.m., Saturday,, until further notice.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for the region that will be in effect all day Saturday. The service forecasts 18 to 24 inches of snow in Barnstable beginning late Friday.

In the area covered by the blizzard warning, winds could gust at 50 to 60 miles per hour and visibility may drop below one-quarter of a mile, the Weather Service said.
