Barnstable Teen Cocaine Trafficker Arrested: Police

Yarmouth police said Gabriel Martins, of Barnstable, was found with 30 grams of cocaine.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Barnstable teenager was arrested this week on cocaine trafficking charges, according to police. Gabriel Martins, 19, was arrested Tuesday in Yarmouth. Police said they found him with 31 grams of cocaine.

Police said they encountered Martins at Bay View Beach Tuesday night. Martins was in a Mitsubishi Lancer with several other occupants who were "in the process of using illegal drugs," according to police.

Martins was found with $700 in cash, multiple phones and a bag of cocaine in his sock, police said. He was charged with cocaine trafficking, conspiracy and cocaine possession and held on $5,000 bail.

"The Yarmouth Police Department commends the work of our specialized Proactive Anti-Crime Unit on this significant arrest and many other arrests that they are involved with which has led to numerous drug dealers being identified and arrested and large amounts of illegal and deadly drugs being removed from the town of Yarmouth," police said in a statement.
