Barnstable Walking Weekend Returns For 2025

Three days of nature walks highlight the event organized by the Barnstable Open Space Committee.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The Open Space Committee is ready to get locals out into the vast nature of Cape Cod this weekend.

Barnstable's Walking Weekend is back from Friday through Sunday with 11 events ranging from birding to beaches and a loop around the trail at Cape Cod Community College.

"The 2025 Town of Barnstable Spring Walking Weekend is here, and it's the perfect excuse to stretch your legs, soak up the scenery, and explore the natural beauty of our villages—one step at a time," the town said, in a Facebook post.

The forecast looks mostly cooperative for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Here's what to expect this weekend:

Friday

Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night

A chance of showers, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. Light south wind. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday

A chance of showers after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. South wind 5 to 9 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday Night

A chance of showers before 5 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. South wind around 7 mph. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Sunday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. West wind 6 to 10 mph.
