Barnstable's Most Popular Dog Names Revealed
As Barnstable pet owners get ready to relicense their pals, the town released the top dog names. Did your pooch's name make the cut?
BARNSTABLE, MA — The Barnstable Town Clerk's Office is reminding all town dog owners that the deadline for licensing their pets will be here before you know it.
All dogs in Barnstable require a new license each year. Licenses are valid from July 1 to June 30 each year, and late fees are assessed after July 31 and again after Dec. 31. To help bring attention to the licensing alert, Town Clerk Ann Quirk provided Patch with a list of names for dogs licensed in 2021.
The most popular dog name was Max, which made up 27 of the more than 2,000 dogs registered.

For spayed and neutered pets, owners must submit proof of spaying or neutering and a rabies shot. Licensing fees are $7 for a neutered male or spayed female or $10 for an intact male or female.
