Cape Cod Hit With Flooding, Tornado Amid Severe Weather
Cape Cod dealt with cars stuck in flooding, a tornado and more on a Tuesday filled with severe weather.

CAPE COD, MA — Tuesday saw a string of severe weather hit Cape Cod, bringing flooding and a tornado to local communities
A tornado was confirmed to touch down in the Marstons Mills area just before noon on Tuesday, causes downed wires and trees but causing no injuries.

At the Orleans and Brewster town line, police report that Main Street was shut down as three vehicles were stuck in flood waters. The road has since reopened.
The weather has also put a damper on the Cape Cod Baseball League playoffs, which canceled its two games scheduled for Tuesday evening.

There have also been other reports of flooding and downed trees in Centerville, Falmouth, Yarmouth and Barnstable. As of 1 p.m., the National Weather Service reports that up to 4 inches of rain have fallen in parts of Cape Cod.
Off the Cape in Mattapoisett, the National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down at 11:30 a.m. A survey team is still investigating the damage and strength of the tornado.
