Cape Cod will get hit with 4-6 inches of snow and 45 mph winds in a late-winter snowstorm Friday.

It will be one of the few significant snowfall events for the Cape so far this winter.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch and wind advisory for Friday. The snow is expected to start that morning and power outages are possible.

  • A WINTER STORM WATCH...REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE FRIDAY NIGHT...
  • LOCATIONS...INCLUDE CAPE COD AND MARTHAS VINEYARD.
  • HAZARD TYPES...SNOW.
  • ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW.
  • TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN TO OVERSPREAD THE CAPE AND ISLANDS MID MORNING FRIDAY AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY EVENING.
  • IMPACTS...THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AS WELL AS SOME GUSTY WINDS 40 TO 50 MPH COULD LEAD TO DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND SMALL TREES. POWER OUTAGES POSSIBLE. ROAD CONDITIONS COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS.
  • WINDS...NORTHEAST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.
