Cape And Islands Bookstore Trail Returns For Independent Bookstore Day
Over 20 independent bookstores across Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are part of the 2024 trail, which kicks off this weekend.
CAPE COD, MA — Saturday marks the return of Independent Bookstore Day, a day that unites over 1,000 bookstores nationwide.
But the day is special on Cape Cod, too, when the Cape and Islands Bookstore Trail officially begins for the new year.
Independent Bookstore Day has been ongoing for the last 10 years, and the Cape Cod trail honors those staying afloat locally.

The trail features 24 local bookstores and maps can be picked up at any of the participating stores starting on Saturday.

At least one bookstore, Sea Howl, is hosting a special event for Independent Bookstore Day.
Complimentary donuts and cookies from Sunbird will be available starting at 10 a.m. until they're gone, and complimentary wine and snacks are available from 2 to 5 p.m.
