Election 2022 Results: Tracy Post Concedes In 1st Barnstable Race
Christopher Flanagan has tallied the most votes with all precincts reporting, according to the Associated Press.

CAPE COD, MA — Christopher Flanagan is set to take the 1st Barnstable District State House seat after his Republican opponent, Tracy Post, conceded on Tuesday night.
"Thank you all very much for your support. Unfortunately, we were not successful tonight. I’m proud of the work that we did in the campaign that we ran. I am so very grateful for everybody’s help. I wish Chris Flannagan the best of luck and success," she wrote in a message on Facebook.
With precincts from Brewster, Yarmouth and Dennis all reporting, Flanagan held a lead just short of 2,000 votes, though the Associated Press hadn't yet called the race as of 11:58 p.m.

There was a hiccup in the process when it comes to the 1st District.
Post filed for an injunction after over 3,000 mail-in ballots were sent to voters in Dennis listing her opponent, Christopher Flanagan as the incumbent.
Republican Timothy Whelan is the actual incumbent, but Whelan is giving up that seat in 2022 as he makes a run for Barnstable County Sheriff.
Approximately 600 of those ballots were caught before they were delivered to voters, the Cape Cod Times reported.
A judge ruled that those ballots could be counted, which resulted in Post filing an appeal prior to election day.
In a statement, Flanagan praised the Secretary of State's Office for their part in handling this situation.
"The Secretary’s office has acted decisively to remedy this unfortunate mistake. The coordinated outreach to the Town Clerks in Dennis, Yarmouth and Brewster was immediate," said Flanagan.
"I am satisfied with the steps that were taken by election officials and confident in our election - every vote will be counted in this race."
Post, of course, disagreed.
"It is ballot problems like these that cause the voters to question the integrity of the system," Post said.
Whelan has endorsed Post for the seat.
"I have known Tracy Post since she was a Yarmouth Selectman and I was serving as your State Representative. There’s no one who stands up and fights for her community more than Tracy Post," he said.
