Fire Torches Car, Damages Building in Hyannis

Firefighters responded to a fire at a U-Haul facility on Bearses Way at around midnight that destroyed a vehicle and damaged a building, officials say.

According to fire officials, the engine compartment a U-Haul van caught on fire, which to the vinyl siding of a building on the street. Firefighters spent about an hour fighting the flames, officials say.

They say the truck was destroyed, and some of the siding of the building will have to be replaced.
