Garage Bays Damaged, But No Injuries In Cape Cod Collision Fire
The Sunday fire took officials from around the area over an hour to knock down, Barnstable Fire Department brass said.
BARNSTABLE, MA — A few garage bays were damaged, but no one was injured during a weekend fire at Cape Cod Collison, officials said.
At 12:35 a.m. Sunday, the Barnstable Fire Department was dispatched by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center to a reported Structure Fire at 146 Thornton Dr.
A full department recall was initiated for all off-duty Barnstable fire members, along with a line response from Hyannis, West Barnstable and Yarmouth Fire Departments.

A working fire assignment was requested, bringing additional resources to the scene from Centerville-Osterville-Marston Mills, Cotuit, Sandwich and Yarmouth Fire Departments. Dennis, Brewster and Mashpee Fire Departments covered the Barnstable Fire Department during the duration of the incident.
The fire was brought under control through "an aggressive interior attack to ensure the fire did not spread to an adjoining building and adjacent structures," officials said. The fire was under control within an hour and a half, and no injuries were reported.

Four garage bays were damaged in the fire.
Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigators with the State Fire Marshals Office were requested to the scene to assist in determining a cause and the fire remains under investigation.
