Helicopter Training Scheduled For Cape Cod This Week
Local officials said residents who see increased helicopter activity shouldn't be concerned. Here's what to know.

MARSTONS MILLS, MA — Increased helicopter activity over Cape Cod on Friday shouldn't signal concern for residents, local officials said.
The Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department said they'll be supporting a training exercise on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the area of Mystic Lake and the Cape Cod Airfield.
"Please be aware that this is a scheduled training exercise only — there is no emergency," officials said.

The training is being conducted by the Massachusetts Army National Guard, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, the Massachusetts State Police and the Maine Forest Service. C.O.MM fire officials will be providing support.
The training is part of the S-270/271 Helicopter Crewmember Course, designed to build proficiency in tactical and logistical helicopter operations, officials said.
