Hit-And-Run Driver Sought On Cape Cod

A Hyannis woman was hospitalized following a serious crash in Yarmouth Monday night, police said.

YARMOUTH, MA — Police in Yarmouth are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a crash that left a woman hospitalized Monday night.

Police said a white Hyundai sedan fled a traffic stop at Buck Island Road and Camp Street around 6 p.m. The officer followed the car, which sped north on Willow Street and failed to complete a turn as it tried to enter the Route 6 on-ramp, police said.

The sedan struck a Dodge Caravan that was exiting the highway, spinning both cars and resulting in significant damage.

Police said the driver of the Hyundai fled the scene and has not been found. The driver of the minivan, a Hyannis woman, was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
