Hyannis And Falmouth Square Off In Cape Cod Baseball League Playoffs

The opening round of the Cape Cod Baseball League playoffs starts this weekend. Here's what to know.

HYANNIS, MA — In the Cape Cod Baseball League's 100th season, two original teams at set to face off in the opening round when Hyannis and Falmouth step between the lines on Friday night.

Friday marks the beginning of the first round of the 2023 playoffs, with Cotuit facing Bourne, Yarmouth-Dennis facing Brewster and Orleans facing Harwich in addition to the Hyannis-Falmouth matchup.

The Cape League first round is a best-of-three series with games scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if necessary.

Hyannis plays Falmouth at 6 p.m. at McKeon Park on Friday with Saturday's 6 p.m. matchup shifting to Guv. Fuller Field. Should a third game be needed, the teams will head back to McKeon Park.

Falmouth is the third seed in the West while Hyannis grabbed the number two spot. The top team in the West during the 2023 regular season was Cotuit, with Bourne rounding out the league's remaining top tier.
