Hyannis Gym Partners To Collect, Donate Used Sneakers
A local Planet Fitness is participating in the initiative that runs through early September.
HYANNIS, MA — A local gym is partnering with a sneaker recycling company for an initiative that will support Boys & Girls Clubs.
Planet Fitness locations across Massachusetts are teaming up with GotSneakers to launch a sneaker recycling campaign from Aug. 9 through Sept. 8. Officials said the initiative encourages members and community residents to donate their gently used sneakers to help support local Boys & Girls Clubs while promoting sustainability.
Gently used sneakers can be dropped off in collection bins at participating Planet Fitness locations throughout the month-long campaign. Once collected, the sneakers will be processed by GotSneakers, a national organization that recycles and reuses footwear to reduce landfill waste and promote sustainability.
